The Town of Salmon, Idaho– Salmon River RV Park, located in Elk Bend, Idaho is a small community just 20 miles south of Salmon, Idaho. Salmon has a golf course, many good restaurants, RV service, parks and shopping. It is also the birthplace of Sacajawea and is an important point on the Lewis and Clark trail. Hiking/Biking/ATV - There are several hot springs in the area including the famous Gold Bug Hot Springs. Reach the U.S. Forrest Service Gold Bug Hot Springs from the trailhead a half-mile south on Highway 93. The hike is about 2 miles long (4 miles round trip). Explore thousands of miles of backcountry roads on your ATV. This is also a mountain bikers' paradise. Ride to backcountry lakes for a swim or some fishing.

Wilderness/Hunting - The Salmon River R.V. Park is situated on the edge of the largest continuous wilderness area in the lower 48 states. Elk Bend is famous for it’s wildlife. Take a hike along the Gold Bug Ridge or up the Lime Creek/ North Basin Trail and view Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Elk, Deer, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, and much, much more.

This is an excellent base camp for hunters. The elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, bear, lion, upland game birds, water foul and turkey hunting is right out your door. The high dessert terrain is also perfect for falconry.

The Lost Trail Ski Area is an easy 1-hour drive north on Highway 93. Pick up brochures at our registration desk. Our local snowmobile club, Salmon Ridge Runners, has groomed hundreds of miles of trails including extreme snow machine mountaineering tracks. There is also good snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.	The Steelhead and trout fishing on the Salmon River is excellent. The river area across the street is also great for rafting, boating and fly-fishing. Shuttle service available. There are also numerous lakes and streams with a variety of trout.	There are several good outfitters in the area that can provide fishing, horseback riding, skiing and rafting adventures.
